I hate public transportation, but it's a way of life in D.C. The 1st time I went on the subway here, I thought: Huh? Where's the smell? No graffiti? And it's carpeted??? Definitely not like Chicago. And it's quiet, too (relatively speaking). You know you're at the Pentagon stop when you see armored police with bomb-sniffing dogs walking around with large AKs. I'm a changed man actually use the subway daily barely putting miles on the vehicles.
